The team behind Dynamics Project Service Automation has now released a new content pack for PowerBI allowing you to save a lot of time in the data machine room. This pack serves as inspiration for those using the PSA module, and requires you to sync your online PSA data to an Azure DB. The template comes with a complete guide on how to achieve this.
As a whole, users of PSA are not forced to use an Azure DB to create reports. You can connect directly to the PSA Service using ODATA feeds from Microsoft Excel or PowerBI Desktop Designer. However, using an Azure DB ensures faster data load (also realtime), while allowing you to customize, and perhaps integrate to other LOB applications.
Best thing is that you can now try out the content pack even without installing anything. With this link you can play around with sample data directly from you browser: LINK
